General Paediatrician
MBBS (Hons) FRACP
A keen educator to parents, children and colleagues alike, Ling strives to empower families with knowledge about their child’s health, and equip them with a framework to best address their child’s medical needs.
Graduating with honours from Monash University in 2009, Ling has worked at some of Australia’s major paediatric hospitals across Melbourne and Sydney including The Royal Children’s Hospital, Monash Children’s Hospital, Sydney Children’s Hospital and The Children’s Hospital at Westmead. He has extensive experience in both acute and developmental paediatrics, including two years within neonatal intensive care and a year with The Alfred’s tertiary autism assessment team. In addition to seeing children in his private rooms, Ling also cares for newborn babies at Monash Women’s at Sandringham when he can find the opportunity.
As a father and primary carer to his primary schooler and toddler, Ling has experienced some of the challenges in implementing theory into practice. Parenting is far from easy, but knowing first-hand how the early years of life can shape a child’s outlook, Ling is keen to share his integrated perspective with families that see him.
Ling can also speak Chinese (conversational Cantonese and Mandarin) and understands the struggle of migrant families unaccustomed to a completely different health system and way of life.
